Born in 1976 in Belgium to Mexican parents, Pedro González-Rubio studied journalism in Mexico before graduating from the London Film School. His documentary debut Toro Negro (2005) portraying a failed bullfighter was followed by The Making Of Babel and then the award-winning Alamar (2010), a lyrical story of the bond between father and son.
